Experience with Proven Results

Over $2.75 Million in Awarded Grants for our Clients

When you're pursuing funding for your organization, you need more than just good writing, you need someone who understands the strategic landscape of grant applications, knows how to position your project for success, and has a proven track record of winning competitive funding.

With experience across federal agencies, state cultural programs, small business initiatives, and private foundations, I've helped non-profit and for-profit organizations secure over $2.75 million in grant funding. My approach combines thorough research, strategic positioning, and compelling narrative development to give your application the best possible chance of success.

How it Works: A Strategic, Transparent Process

  • Step 1: Preliminary Analysis (Required - 4 hours / $200)

Before committing to a full grant application, you need to know if it’s worth pursuing. My preliminary analysis provides a comprehensive assessment that includes:

Eligibility verification - Confirming your organization and project meet all stated requirements
Competitive landscape analysis - Understanding who else is applying and how your project compares
Success probability assessment - An honest evaluation of your chances based on grant priorities and your organizational capacity
Timeline and deadline mapping - Breaking down every submission requirement and identifying potential bottlenecks
Resource requirements - Identifying what documentation, partnerships, or cooperation you'll need to secure
Strategic recommendations - Specific guidance on how to position your project for maximum impact

This analysis typically saves clients months of wasted effort by identifying red flags early or, alternatively, by providing a clear roadmap to success that makes the full application process much more efficient.

  • Step 2: Grant Development and Writing

Following the preliminary analysis, if we determine the grant is a good fit, we move into the development phase. My rate is $50 per hour, with flexible arrangements based on grant size and complexity:

Small Grants ($5,000 - $25,000) typically require 15-25 hours of work, including research, writing, revision, and final submission preparation.
Medium Grants ($25,000 - $100,000) generally need 25-50 hours, often involving more detailed budgets, evaluation plans, and supporting documentation.
Large Grants ($100,000+) can require 40-80+ hours depending on complexity, often including multi-year budgets, comprehensive program designs, and extensive supporting materials.

  • Step 3: Final Submission and Quality Assurance (Included)

Before any grant leaves my desk, it undergoes rigorous quality control:

Compliance verification - Triple-checking that every requirement, format specification, and supporting document is included and correct

Narrative review - Ensuring the story is compelling, clear, and directly addresses evaluation criteria

Budget reconciliation - Confirming all numbers align across narrative, budget forms, and financial documentation

Submission coordination - Managing the actual submission process, whether through grants.gov, foundation portals, or direct delivery

Confirmation documentation - Providing you with submission confirmations, copies of all materials, and a submission summary for your records

You'll receive a complete package of everything submitted, along with notes on expected response timelines and next steps.

  • Step 4: Post-Award Support (Optional - Hourly or Retainer)

Congratulations—you were awarded the grant! Now the real work begins. Many grants require ongoing compliance reporting, progress updates, financial documentation, and final reports. I offer flexible post-award support:
Full-Service Reporting - I handle all required progress reports, financial reporting, and final documentation at my standard $50/hour rate. This is ideal for organizations without dedicated grant management staff.
Consultation and Review - If you prefer to handle reporting internally, I can provide consultation, review your drafts, and ensure compliance before submission (discounted hourly rate).
Training and Handoff - I can train your team on reporting requirements and provide templates/checklists so you can manage everything in-house going forward (one-time fee based on complexity).
No Obligation - Post-award support is entirely optional. If you have internal capacity to manage reporting, I'll provide you with a comprehensive handoff document outlining all requirements, deadlines, and best practices at no additional cost.

The choice is yours based on your organizational capacity, but I'm here to support you through the entire grant lifecycle if needed.
